Oil Separators

Precast oil separators, otherwise known as septic tanks are available in 1000, 1250, 1500, and 2000 gallon sizes. The minimum capacity of 6 cubic feet for the first 100 square feet of area to be drained, plus the one (1) cubic foot for each additional 100 square foot of area is easily accomplished in these sizes

The following features are accomplished with a 1000 gallon separator:

  • Inside is coated with Tneme-Liner Series 61 Coating or Dura-Plate 235 Multi-Purpose Epoxy.

  • A 2-foot required minimum depth below the invert of the discharge drain.

  • The 18-inch required water seal is easily accomplished through integral piping within the structure. (Interior piping provided by others).

  • Maintenance and service cleaning is accessible through the 24-inch diameter openings. (Two each provided).

  • The 4-inch inlet and outlet openings allow adequate drainage fixture units (dfu) in most all applications.

  • Structural design may include a single partition baffle located halfway up the structure for sediment collection and flow restriction in the first chamber. Separation of the oil floats to the top for removal and the sanitary sewer is protected by the outlet drop pipe. (Partition baffle is optional).

  • Installation Instructions: Excavate to match invert elevation of influent line, excavation must be 24” greater than outside diameter of the structure. Install level on a solid bed. Access openings shall be brought to grade using precast risers, adjusting rings, or brick. Hydrostatic pressure testing of the separator may be required if deemed necessary by governing code enforcement.
