Kerkstra Precast, Inc. has been recognized in the 53rd Annual PCI Design Awards Competition which showcases design excellence and construction quality using precast concrete.
Project Resiliency is a monument to those lost in the 9-11 attacks and was dedicated on September 11th, 2015. An artifact from the New York attack site was obtained by the American Red Cross of Berrien County.
Safety and Quality are always top priorities at Kerkstra Precast. With this year’s improvements in our Safety program the safety committee wanted to recognize the employees with a cookout.

We have been learning a lot over the years on how to participate in design build and design assist project delivery. We have had many successes over the years and we have had some learning experiences as well. So much of it starts early and it starts with the expectations and communications of the design team.

“It’s being built with 100 percent pre-cast walls with 24-foot clear heights, 50-by-50 column spacing and ESFR (early suppression fast response) fire protection,” said Chris Veneklasen. “The building will (be) good from an insulation factor, performing well from a heating and cooling standpoint because of the pre-cast walls … so it’s energy efficient, as well.”
The new headquarters for Gordon Foods Service was featured in PCI’s Ascent Spring Magazine.

Kerkstra Precast’s Direcor of Safety and Quality Control, Sue Rollins, received safety certifications for Level Two – Management Systems Safety & Health, Level Two – Compliance General Industry Safety & Health and Occupational Health Certificate.
Kerkstra Precast has become the seventh precast concrete manufacturer to join AltusGroup® in the past two years, bringing the total number of North American precasters in the organization to an all-time high of 19.
The Z, a 10-story parking deck and mixed-use property, was featured in PCI’s Ascent Winter Magazine.
