South Christian High School
Contractor: Dan Vos
Kerkstra was involved in this high profile, high school project from the beginning. The process for this project was more unique than most.
Our team started with a rendering of the high school which would later be used to show how all the different finishes would look on the completed building.
Kerkstra’s quality department created samples of the different formliners, acid washes, and sand blast finishes in the different concrete pigments, in order for the South Christian team to choose what would go on the exterior of their new school.
The finished school will consist of five different finishes and three types of concrete pigments. These finishes include architectural formliner, acid etch, sand blast, form finish, and architectural reveals.
“We were able to engage with the Kerkstra team early in the design phase and together with the architect, came up with ways to engineer the project so that it would be both cost effective, as well as create a beautiful exterior for the school. It was a big asset to work with Kerkstra toward the best solution for the South Christian High School .”
