The 601 Bond project had over 140,000 embedded brick elements placed in the form. Of this, 2,500 of the pieces were brick corner pieces, made to simulate a hand laid brick in a return or corner of the building. The bricks were made out of full brick that were fired using a generations old process to get the rich deep reds seen in the project exterior. The brick was then sorted, and machine cut to the extremely tight tolerances required for PCI Certification. The brick was packaged after a thin wax protection coated was placed on and delivered directly to the production bed ready to be placed in the forms.
