This beautiful, world class theatre is a part of the Jewish Community Center and hosts musicians, theatre performances, lectures and meetings. The project features 22,000 square feet of solid precast panels. The structural wall panels are up to 56’ tall. The dove tail finish allowed for a field applied brick finish giving the theatre a traditional look and feel. The project was originally planned as a block structure and was converted to precast due to the time-savings that was possible.
"The Kerkstra Precast team did a fantastic job with the up-front work and coordinated their work with our steel contractors work. The team always had solutions and not just issues or prolems. We saved 6-8 weeks of time by going with precast walls in lieu of block walls."
“Many people see precast buildings as pretty simple boxes, where they use cookie-cutter production to make 30 panels that are 15' x 28'. There aren’t too many panels on this building that are alike. Almost every panel is a unique size and shape with unique connection points. It really is a credit to the design and to Kerkstra that we were able to get all the benefits of precast, but it wasn’t easy for them to work with all of the pieces to the puzzle. Kerkstra solved many problems in the field, but none of these solutions came without real effort. Kerkstra came to the table with solutions rather than saying, ‘Hey, I have a problem that you need to solve.’”
